Acquisition Policy

 

Membership

 

Those who intend to use the library facilities must enrol themselves as library members by filling out the prescribed form and library membership card. The form must be recommended or approved by the respective head of the Department.

 

Who’s Eligible? 

The following are entitled to enrol themselves as members of the library without any processing fees:

  1. Enrolled Students of B. K. Birla College.

  2. Faculty Members

  3. Adjunct Faculty Members

  4. Visiting Faculty

  5. Officers & Support Staff

  6. Academic & Faculty Associates

 

Applicant must present a valid college ID and a photo identification (driving license, passport, official ID card, voter’s ID, PAN Card) with proof of current residence. The library will only accept original IDs.

 

External Membership Services

The library offers library membership to external ‘Research Scholars’, ‘Alumni of BKBCK’ or any individual in need to facilitate their access to library resources. This membership service will entitle you to access the library for reference/consultation purposes. For more details, click the application form icon/link below.

Membership Processing Fee and security deposit for external members

  • Individual: Rs. 1000/- Deposit and Rs. 1000/- fees for one year – Rs. 800/- fees for two years

  • Non-profit Institution: Rs. 1000/- Deposit and Rs. 2,000/- fees for one year – Rs. 3,000/- fees for two years

  • Other Institutions: Rs. 1000/- Deposit and Rs. 3,000/- for one year – Rs. 5,000/- for two years

Membership processing fees may be paid in person by cash or check in favour of the

“B. K. Birla College, Kalyan.”

Membership Responsibilities

  • BKBCL membership card is not transferable.

  • A member is responsible for all materials borrowed on his/her card.

  • Please notify BKBCL immediately if your card is lost or stolen or your name/address changes.

  • If a BKBCL membership card is lost or stolen, a duplicate card will be issued on payment of Rs. 20/-.

 

The library reserves the right to restrict admission and cancel the enrollment of anyone not complying with the rules and regulations.
